How I long to be that pure rose again

They ripped my rose petals.
Each time I was stuck in a well,
I couldn’t escape.
I couldn’t stop them
And I didn’t stop them from doing the same to others.

Now I long to be that pure rose again
Because my petals were so cruelly corrupted.
They had no right to rob me of my choice,
To rob me of my innocence.

You are a rapist and you disgust me

Cruel snake tempting me

With false kindness, humour, understanding-

All lies

When all you wanted was to have power over me.
Your misogynistic devil’s horns

Don’t trick me anymore.

I refuse to let your deceitful smile charm me.

I didn’t let you kill me

And you won’t overthrow me.
Undeserved, unjust, horrible violation

Of body, mind and soul.

You raped me,

You are a rapist.

You should feel terrible for the rest of your life.

For violating another human being,

For stealing from another human being,

For being so cruel to a vulnerable girl,

For taking someone’s virginity with force,

For denying what you did.

Admit to yourself that you are a rapist

But don’t be surprised that you disgust me.

The ultimate crime

I wore my virginal white dress

The first day we met.

Before I was a total mess-

Before I regretted

Ever trusting you

With my body,

My mind,

My soul.
I denied

The truth

Before I spoked to Rape Crisis and cried

When they told me,

“You were raped”.

I had been confused-

I didn’t understand how it happened,

Why I had a throbbing pain for days.
You spoiled my blue dress forever

With one forceful action.

I hope you know I will be changed forever

Because of your actions.
You shattered my soul

And broke my world

When you forced your sword

Inside me.

Violation-

Power, control, authority

Over me.
I may have regained control

By eventually pushing you away

But that doesn’t change the fact you took from me,

You stole from me.
The ultimate crime-

You stole my virginity,

My choice,

My power

And a piece of my heart.

Stolen innocence

A magpie stole a white diamond with force-

Non-consensual plucking of every white feather from the dove’s coat.

Blood stained white dress as

Innocence is unlawfully taken from her in an instant-

Violated sexuality.

Stolen Spark

A terribly painful revelation
Of a once innocent, naive girl;
Her golden curls were cruelly taken,
Magpies stole her diamonds.

Powerless, shocked, ashamed;
Those memories locked away.
She threw the key into the sea
So she was content in the field.

Fragile she may be
But her head is not made of porcelain,
Her body is not made of glass.
She is a human being,
She is alive.

She may have been drunk
But no one is ever asking for fun,
To have their hair tugged.
She may be pretty
But she is no doll
And they can learn to control
Themselves like the others.

She struggled for so long to say the words:
Sexual assault.
She was never to blame.
The gleam in her sapphire eyes is now lost,
The life, animation within her gone.
They stole her special spark.
She mistrusts the song of the nightingale
Because she never met the larks,
Only magpies and eagles.
